Meet Dr. Adkins
Dr. Adkins, a lifelong Alaskan, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and Human Performance with a specialization in Sports Medicine from Oregon State University in 1996. He completed his Doctorate in Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, CA, in 2001.
Dr. Adkins has been a board member of the Alaska Chiropractic Society since 2012 and is also a member of the American Chiropractic Association. Additionally, he is the only Active Release Technique (ART) Instructor in Alaska. Over the years, he has provided treatment at events such as the Ironman World Championships, Ironman Coeur d'Alene, and Ironman Arizona. Dr. Adkins has been a certified provider of Active Release since 1999, with qualifications including Advanced Full Body Certification, participation in multiple ART Masters Classes with ART developer Dr. Mike Leahy, and holds certifications in Nerve, TPI/ART Golf Analysis, Active Palpation, and Biomechanics. He continues to train in soft tissue, chiropractic, and diagnostic techniques to improve his ability to quickly and effectively treat neuromusculoskeletal injuries.
Dr. Adkins is a graduate of Whiplash and Brain Traumatology from the San Diego Spine Research Institute. He is a board-ready Chiropractic Sports Physician and holds Correction & Prescription Certification from the National Association of Sports Medicine. Dr. Adkins emphasizes the importance of addressing strength, flexibility, and ergonomic issues in injury rehabilitation to improve the patient's current and future health.
Dr. Adkins has devoted significant time to volunteering in the Anchorage community, supporting various sports, including football, basketball, hockey, skiing, and soccer. He offers his professional skills whenever and wherever they are needed. In his free time, Dr. Adkins enjoys hunting, fishing, and skiing, as well as spending quality time with his family. He also actively supports his children at their sporting events, which include soccer, hockey, football, and freeride skiing.
